Abstract

Geography, with its disciplinary characteristics emphasizing field practice and the exploration of human-land relationships, offers an effective approach to resolving the "tourism-oriented" predicament in heritage education. This study takes the Xiaowuli Site of the Changling Porcelain Stone Mine as a case to explore and implement a research-based learning course model that integrates heritage education, geography education, and interdisciplinary learning. The course, centered on geographical practice, oriented towards practical education, and aiming at heritage preservation, designs five progressive themes: Decoding the Site Location, Refi ning Clay from Stone, Unveiling the Secrets of Porcelain, Protection and Development, and Porcelain Travels the World. It guides students to conduct embodied cognition and exploration in the real heritage site using geographical methods, providing a practical sample for enhancing the depth and eff ectiveness of world heritage education.
