Abstract

To address the issues of“superfi cial cognition”and“fragmented cultivation”prevalent in current geographical practice, this paper constructs a dual-practice coupling model of“Scientifi c Cognition and Humanistic Cultivation”. Guided by geographical thoughts, the model employs a“task chain–question chain–thinking chain”to drive cognitive progression, while deeply integrating six educational practice dimensions: scientifi c inquiry practice, cultural experience practice, social application practice, classroom aesthetic practice, life perception practice, and global vision practice. Taking the case of “Where Are Brick-and-Mortar Stores Headed?”from Geography 2 (PEP Edition) and grounded in the real-world context of the“Huaile Road Commercial District in Bengbu City, Anhui Province,”this paper presents a complete geographical practice case—from theme refi nement, objective setting, and path design to evaluation implementation. It off ers a practical reference for competence-oriented geographical subject practice for frontline teachers.
